As 2023 has taken off, we can’t help but reminisce with emotion and gratitude for all that happened last year. 2022 was a record year for Christmas Without Cancer thanks to all of our incredible supporters. As always, our supporters showed up when these families needed us most. Because of YOU, we helped more families battling the devastation of cancer than any other year.
A Year to Remember
In 2022, Christmas Without Cancer took on 435 local families battling cancer. There were lots of tears, but many happy wins as well. These families continue to inspire all of us and are a reminder of why we do what we do.
“I want to thank you all so very much for helping me and my family. My wife was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma and six months later, I was diagnosed with a deep tissue nodular melanoma. Thank you most importantly on behalf of our kids. It is hard enough having one parent with cancer, but then a second parent within six months is devastating and scary. As a large family, we struggle daily with medical bills, gas prices, and groceries. I am not certain we would have survived without your help and assistance over the past few months. We definitely would not have been able to have an actual Christmas for our kids without you.” – The “R” Family
Honoring Childhood Cancer
As we all know, cancer does not discriminate and affects people of all ages. Last year’s Annual 5K Run / Walk was a special one where we honored 28 childhood cancer warriors, angels, and survivors. This was our largest turnout for this event ever. 1,120 people attended the 5k to show their support for these brave children fighting this awful disease. Save-the-Date for our 9th annual 5K Run / Walk being held on Saturday, September 16th.
“I absolutely had no expectations about yesterday, but the effort put forth to make the honorees and their families feel special blew me away. The wooden ribbons with their names they were able to take home, the frames with their pics, their gifts and on and on. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Yesterday was selfless and the love you poured into this event was front and center.” – “A”
”A huge thank you Christmas Without Cancer NFP for a beautiful walk! Today we honored 28 beautiful warriors, survivors and angels. We were surrounded by so much love; it was a perfect day!” – The “D” Family
“Thank you for everything that you do! This was the most special event we have ever attended.” – The “V” Family
A Christmas Miracle
Here at Christmas Without Cancer, we feel the Christmas magic deeply. We know that every cancer family wishes for the Christmas miracle of being cancer free. While that is unfortunately beyond our power, we certainly help create the magic of Christmas for our families. Our committee members came together to help 74 families celebrate this season.
“You helped us forget the pain and fear of this year if only for a couple of days. We will surely ALWAYS look back on this day and smile. We just cannot believe how much we’ve been blessed. Thank you so much!!” – The “M” family
