5 Ways To Support Your Favorite Non-Profit
What started as a single family at Christmas has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. None of this would be possible without the dedication, generosity, and unwavering support of our incredible community. Now more than ever, our local families battling cancer need us. Each year, the number of applications we receive continues to grow, and it truly takes a village to help make a difference.
1. Volunteer Your Time
Did you know that our largest event of the year, the CWC Annual 5k, requires over 100 volunteers to pull it off successfully? Every year, it amazes us to see 1,500+ individuals come together to help support our mission and raise money for the many deserving families in our community.
While the 5k is a major volunteer opportunity, it’s not the only time we need helping hands.
Christmas Without Cancer relies on volunteers year-round and is always looking to welcome new members to our committee. Our volunteers selflessly donate their time by assisting at events, running errands, assembling gift bags, and so much more.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please visit our website and complete the volunteer form.
2. Attend An Event
If you haven’t been to a Christmas Without Cancer event before, you are missing out! Our events are the heart of our fundraising efforts and are designed to be both impactful and fun. From Bingo and our Annual 5k to Harvesting Hope and more, we host a variety of events throughout the year that offer something for everyone.
To stay up to date on upcoming events, sign up for our newsletter, follow us on social media, or check our website regularly.
3. Engage With Us on Social Media
Looking for a free and easy way to support our mission? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram! Engaging with our social media platforms through likes, comments, and shares helps us spread the word about our mission. These quick and simple efforts help us reach new supporters and expand our impact! In fact, Christmas Without Cancer has won social media contests resulting in donations from local businesses thanks to our community’s engagement online.
4. Make A Donation
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact on the local families we serve.
Your financial support allows us to continue growing and expanding our services. In 2025, Christmas Without Cancer proudly opened our first-ever Headquarters office, enabling us to offer even more resources to the cancer community
In addition to monetary donations, we are always on the lookout for *new, unused* items for our raffle baskets. If you were gifted a candle, gift card, bottle of wine, or similar item you won’t use, we would love to put it to good use supporting our mission.
5. Collect Pop Tabs
Our team is excited to be collecting aluminum pop tabs throughout the year. These tabs are recycled to help offset organizational expenses. Not a pop drinker? No problem! Ask friends, family, or coworkers to help collect on your behalf. Several local businesses even keep a collection jug in their breakroom for us.
Pop tabs can be dropped off at any CWC event or coordinated for drop-off at our Orland Park Headquarters.
Thank you for being here and for supporting Christmas Without Cancer. Your generosity helps us continue our mission of supporting local families facing the devastating effects of cancer. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
With Love,
The Christmas Without Cancer Team
