Dear Friends,

Christmas Without Cancer (CWC) is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was established in 2003 by Gerri Neylon, a former oncology nurse. Gerri was inspired by the challenges faced by families undergoing cancer treatments, including the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of the illness. What began as a simple initiative to assist one family during the holiday season has evolved into a year-round commitment, providing support to local families every day of the year.

Since its founding, CWC has supported thousands of friends, neighbors, and families within our community. In 2025, the vision grew stronger when CWC secured its first headquarters, aiming to enhance its impact in the community.

On a day-to-day basis, CWC provides recipients with financial grants and gift cards to help pay for living expenses like mortgages/rent, utilities, gas, tuition, groceries, medications, medical bills, and travel expenses for treatment. During the holidays, CWC provides recipients with a little extra cheer, including financial grants, gift cards, holiday gifts, holiday meals, fun family experiences, and many other surprises.

CWC is excited to announce its 8th Annual Harvesting Hope event, scheduled for Saturday, November 7th, 2026, at Bourbon Street, located at 3359 W. 115th St. in Merrionette Park. We aim to raise essential funds that will allow us to continue our mission of supporting families battling this disease during their toughest times. We warmly invite your support through sponsorship or monetary/in-kind donations. Any contribution from you or your business would be greatly appreciated.

*Tickets are available for purchase online until Sunday, November 1st (noon).

*Tickets will be sold online via Christmas Without Cancer and Reindeer Games.

*Tickets will be sold in person at the Harvesting Hope event on Saturday, November 7th.

*A dedicated CWC volunteer will complete ticket(s) on your behalf and will send you pictures of your ticket(s) before the Harvesting Hope event.

*Winner does not need to be present to win.

*The event is from 1 to 5pm at Bourbon Street. Event tickets are available for purchase on our website. If interested, consider joining us in person as we announce our winner on Saturday, November 7th during our Harvesting Hope raffle winner announcements (approx. 4pm).

*Winner will be determined by a CWC recipient pulling one ticket from the mixed ticket bucket.

*There will not be a live video of the drawing. Our team will be very busy with our 2nd largest annual event. We will have approximately 200+ attendees as witnesses. An announcement post will be made.

*CWC will reach out to the winner within 24 hours of the drawing.

*If not present at the event, the winner will need to pick up their prize at Headquarters in Orland Park on an agreed-upon date/time.

*The winner must confirm their prize within seven (7) days of the drawing; if we receive no response or acknowledgement, a new winner will be selected from the drum.

Christmas Without Cancer (EIN #32-0299001) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services were received in consideration of this contribution.
