Registration can be found on our RunSignUp website. Online registration will remain open until Friday, September 11th (noon).  Choose to walk, run, or join us virtually!

Yes! If you cannot participate in person, you are welcome to participate on your own time at a location of your choice. Please register as a virtual participant. PS – We really enjoy having participants from out of state as well!

The 5K is outdoors through the Evergreen Park neighborhood starting and finishing at Klein Park (also known as Circle Park – located at 97th and Homan).

The 5K event kicks off with our opening ceremony at 8:30 am, with our honored guests cutting the ribbon around 9:00 am, and the race will begin shortly thereafter. Runners and all participants with bibs will take the lead, followed by walkers.

Yes! In-person registration will be taking place at the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center located at 3450 W. 97th St. in Evergreen Park on:

  • Wednesday, September 16th from 3 pm until 7 pm
  • Thursday, September 17th from 3 pm until 7 pm
  • Saturday, September 19th (Race Day!) starting at 7 am and ending promptly at 8:30 am

Our team will be equipped to accept Cash, Check, Zelle, and Credit cards. Plus, we have extra shirts available, but sizes will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

We welcome you to create your own fundraiser! This year, we have some fantastic new incentives for you! Raise $250 and get an etched Yeti water bottle. Don’t forget to connect your 5K fundraiser to social media for effortless donations!  Participants who earn incentives must pick up at the event.

Absolutely! We would be thrilled if you could lend a hand for a few hours. We really appreciate our volunteers and offer generous incentives, so don’t hesitate to invite your family and friends! Each volunteer will receive an event shirt, a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Visa gift card, and an invitation to our after-party luncheon, held at the community center. Packet pickup will be held at the Hamilton B. Maher Community Center, located at 3450 W. 97th St. in Evergreen Park, on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, September 17th from 3-7 pm
  • Thursday, September 18th from 3-7 pm
  • Saturday, September 20th (Race Day!) starting at 7 am and ending promptly at 8:30 am

*If you’re collecting for several individuals or an entire team, please email us at CWCRunWalk@gmail.com with the names by noon on Tuesday, September 15th, and our team will do its utmost to have everything prepared for you upon your arrival. This will help reduce wait times!

*Please be aware that we cannot accommodate early or late pickups outside of the specified times above, so make sure to follow the provided schedule.

*Please keep in mind that we will not distribute shirts or packets after the distribution closes on Race Day. Ensure you collect your materials during the designated schedule to avoid missing out.

*Can’t make it? No problem, you can have a family member, friend, or team member collect items on your behalf!

*If you missed online registration, don’t worry! You can register in person on all three days. Our team will accept Cash, Check made payable to Christmas Without Cancer, Zelle, and Credit Cards. Additionally, we have extra shirts available for individuals registering at packet pickup; sizes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Absolutely! If you’re collecting items for several individuals or a whole team, please drop us an email at CWCRunWalk@gmail.com with the names by noon on Tuesday, September 16th. Our team will strive to have everything prepared for you to reduce wait times! Unfortunately, we won’t be able to accommodate late requests.

If you’re picking up for multiple people, kindly inform them so they don’t attempt to pick up as well.

Don’t stress! You can have a family member or friend grab your items for you. Please note that our team won’t be handing out shirts or packets once the distribution ends on Race Day. Be sure to have someone pick up your materials during the designated times!

No. We will only mail materials to participants who signed up as virtual and live outside of our 30-mile radius.  Please make arrangements to attend packet pickup or have someone pick up on your behalf.

T-shirts will be guaranteed to all participants who register online by Sunday, August 30th (midnight).  We will be ordering extra shirts, which will be distributed first come, first served to registered participants.  If you have your heart set on a shirt or a specific size, register BEFORE August 30th.

  • Trophies will be awarded to the top Female and Male in the following categories:
    • Overall Best
    • 1-9 years old
    • 10-19 years old
    • 20-29 years old
    • 30-39 years old
    • 40-49 years old
    • 50-59 years old, and
    • 60+
  • RETURNING THIS YEAR: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pins will be awarded to finishers in each category above.  These make a great addition to the medals provided at the finish line.

The winners will be revealed during our awards ceremony, which is set to kick off around 11:00 am on Race Day.

  • The TOP INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISER will win a $250 VISA Gift Card.
  • The LARGEST REGISTERED TEAM will also earn a $500 VISA Gift Card. (This prize goes to the team captain, who can decide how to use the gift card.)

Yes.  Please click here and scroll to the bottom of the page to review our maps before the event.  Volunteers will also have printouts readily available on race day.

Race officials have the authority to cancel, postpone, or modify the event if extreme conditions arise that could jeopardize the safety and health of participants. We will proceed with the race or walk regardless of rain, so please be prepared. Should the event be cancelled due to extreme weather or other conditions beyond the control of Christmas Without Cancer, there will be no registration refunds or transfers (keep in mind that all funds raised go directly to support local cancer families). Updates will be posted on our social media.

Yes, we love a cute, friendly dog! Who doesn’t? Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations. Please remember your leash and plastic bags.

WE ARE! All pop tabs are now gathered for our mission. We collect the pop tabs in large quantities and utilize the funds generated to support our Headquarters initiatives, which encompass our new support groups. You can bring your pop tabs to the 5K OR any CWC event.

Usually accessible on our website the same day, unless something unexpected happens. We partner with a company named Kinetic, and the results will also be shared on their site.
