We’d love for you to become a part of our Facebook group! Feel free to invite your family and friends to join in, share photos from your journey, upload your progress trackers, and spread some positive vibes to fellow participants.
Participating in the #31MileDogWalkInMay to support Christmas Without Cancer is completely FREE! However, there are some great incentives for those who choose to donate and fundraise.
Yes! Each participant has an individual fundraising target of $100, but it’s not mandatory. Those who do meet the $100 goal will receive an event shirt and a pet bandana in the mail. During signup, participants are required to create a fundraising page. We encourage you to share your unique fundraising link with your family and friends.
Pro tip: To help reach your goal, consider creating a Facebook fundraiser from your existing runsignup fundraising page.
All funds collected will support the local nonprofit, Christmas Without Cancer. We are dedicated to offering financial aid to families in the Southland who are facing the challenges of cancer year-round. In 2024, we were able to assist 714 families, and this year, we aim to help even more.
Yes, of course! Lead by example – then invite friends and family to do the same.
Any fundraising page that collects $100 or more will be sent a complimentary shirt and bandanna by mail after the challenge concludes (post-May 31st). Please expect delivery within 2-4 weeks. The items will be shipped automatically to the address provided during registration.
You can track your miles using any app you prefer, such as Apple Health, Strava, or even a simple pedometer. Additionally, one of our amazing board members has put together a calendar for you to utilize. Just click here: calendar to be added once complete.
There isn’t an age restriction, but we encourage everyone to participate at a level that feels comfortable for them and to avoid exceeding their limits. If you’re under 18, you’ll need permission from a parent or guardian to join in on the challenge.
Absolutely, we encourage you to join in! Feel free to walk by yourself or bring along another pet of your choice.
Absolutely not – we trust you! But it is a great idea to post updates on your progress to your fundraising page to help encourage others to donate and keep going.
We’re excited to see everyone take on the challenge! We know that 31 miles may not be possible for everyone, but every mile you track brings us closer to our goal. Thank you for being a part of this, no matter how far you go!
