Introducing our newest Southside Hero and dear friend, Nicole Torgerson. She is a loving wife to Harry and a proud mom to Addison, Grace, Nolan, and Payton. On top of that, she is a superhero in her own right, working as a nurse in a hematology/oncology clinic. Many of our pediatric families know and love her. It is a career she is passionate about and eagerly anticipates returning to.
After dedicating her time to helping others in their battles, it was a shock when she received her own diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma in 2024. In September, she had her first stem cell transplant, and in January, she underwent her second, and she has been bravely fighting ever since. With a positive outlook, she stays hopeful and is even more determined to reach the finish line.
When you are accustomed to being the giver, it can be tough to find yourself on the receiving end. She is eager to reach the other side so she can return the kindness she has been shown by so many, including our organization. Nicole is a now a lifelong friend, because once a CWC family…always a CWC family. Our team is excited to honor her at our 5K event on Saturday, September 20th.
